News and events News Building and impacting Last year, Romsey Mill’s Youth Development Team regularly engaged with over 2,100 local young people, 153 of whom were supported through times and crises. Recently, the team met to share their experiences and receive training on a number of subjects including trauma-informed youth work (led by former Romsey Mill colleague Mike Farrington, now Operations Lead of Concrete Rose). The youth workers also took part in team building activities and enjoyed some great food cooked by members of the team! Jon Sanders, Youth Development Coordinator, said: "Our team works in different geographical areas across the county and therefore it is important to gather us all together regularly for support, encouragement and training." "We have a fantastic team of youth workers, from those who have been doing this work for over 25 years to those who have joined us in this past year." "Each brings their own skills and passions, with many able to use their own lived experience to inform their work. A number of the team were involved with Romsey Mill as young people themselves and we will continue to offer opportunities for young people to become young leaders and gain youth work qualifications with us." “"Romsey Mill has impacted and continues to impact young people in such a positive and life changing way. Thank you Jon and the team." Louise Willerton, Safeguarding Officer, Cambridge City Council” Throughout the year, Romsey Mill engages with 2,500 local young people, children and families, supporting mental health and wellbeing through positive, relational youth and family work.
